The Zoo’s staff is comprised of a diverse group of people of varying ages, sectors, genders, and populations, almost similar to the variety of animals at the zoo.
Common among all is the love for living things and the will to create a place in which the public can encounter animals from Israel and the world, get acquainted with them and the stories behind them, and understand the responsibility and importance of nature conservation and protection of animals.

What makes one fallow deer thrive in the wild while another struggles? I am Akiva, a Ph.D. student and carnivore keeper, and I follow the adaptation journey of Persian fallow deer from the moment they leave the zoo and step out into the wild. Using GPS tracking and personality tests, I am looking for the formula that will secure their future in the Israeli wild.
