What are the qualities of a good leader? Is it better to live alone or in a commune? How is it decided who will be the alpha male?
The animal kingdom is characterized by a wide variety of social structures. Tigers are solitary; they hunt their prey alone and don't need to share it with anyone. Lionesses, by contrast, hunt together, successfully catching large prey which they share with the lion and the cubs.
We'll walk around the zoo's exhibits, learn about the "democratic method" among chimpanzees, and how the males Moti and Nick compete for the role of leader.
We'll visit the peccary exhibit and see how the saying "one for all and all for one" is expressed. We'll peek into the naked mole-rat burrows, where we'll see the queen ruling with a firm hand.
We'll tackle the question – what can we learn about ourselves through animals? What do we have in common with them? Is there mutual help in the animal kingdom too?
