Dead Sea toothcarp fish, which live only in springs near the Dead Sea, are unique in the entire world and are endangered due to the difficult condition of the Dead Sea and the destruction of their natural habitat.
Research activity and the establishment of a breeding nucleus in the "Story of a Drop" complex are part of the zoo's efforts to save these fish from extinction, in the only place in the world where they are found!
Dead Sea toothcarp are currently displayed both in the "Story of a Drop" exhibit and in the "Israel Aquarium".
