This omnivore eats mainly fruits, seeds, flowers, buds, and tree bark, as well as insects, other arthropods, and bird eggs.
Dangers

• The five-striped squirrel is an invasive species.  It has invaded and populated within several countries in the world, including Israel, after escaping/being released from captivity. As an invasive species, it harms natural vegetation and local animals, as well as agricultural crops.

• Their habitat is forested urban and rural areas in Central and Northern India, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal. Today in Israel, the squirrels live in the wild in various areas in the Negev.
