Super predator
The Nile crocodile is the second largest reptile in the world, right after the Saltwater crocodile. It can weigh up to a ton, and it can be as long as six meters. It can live up to 70, and even 100 years.
The crocodile is semi-aquatic and spends most of its time in water. Its body is fitted for spending long amounts of time in water. Its eyes and nostrils are located on the top level, enabling it to see, smell, and breathe even when its entire body in under water.
After laying eggs, the female crocodile exhibits motherly behavior, as she protects the eggs in their nest. She assists the young to hatch from their eggs and takes them into her mouth and into the water, protecting them for a while after hatching.
The crocodile is dangerous to humans, and it is a known fact that each year, hundreds of humans lose their lives in crocodile attacks. A crocodile’s bite is considered especially strong, and during attack on its prey, it rips out pieces of flesh from its prey without chewing. These pieces are fully digested in its belly.
