  • Their scientific name (midas) comes from the Greek mythology of king Midas and his golden touch. This specie is known for the tolerance in the group and the way they assist each other. Only one female is breeding and the rest of the group help her to take care of the offspring. This female is oppress the other females both behaviorally and hormonally to prevent inbreeding. The tamarins are amazing jumpers and can jump from one tree to another.
